A Seafarer
United Kingdom

Worked on this vessel when requiring additional 2nd Mates to cover for internal short-staffing/internal promotion. Operationally speaking, the vessels operate around the Scottish coast and Scottish EEZ. Patrols are intelligence led and not set. Accomodation spaces feel cramped and narrow at first, but once settled in this becomes less apparent. Cabins are of a very good size- would go so far to say possibly slightly too big and spacious. Each serviced by their own WC/Shower room and have independant heating controls for cabin and WC. Beds are comfortable, and have a decent sized desk and wardrobe. Single galley which services both Officers and Ratings messes. Lounges are seperate from eachother. Crew lounge is large and spacious- often featuring "Crew band nights" from those who can play an instrument. Officers lounge is slightly smaller. Both feature large TV's and games consoles. Crew/Officers bars are mantained by elected persons- at fair and reasonable prices. Dedicated smoking lounge, smaller than the others, but also has a TV. A dedicated gym with sufficient equipment is also present to allow for a variety of exercise routines. Quality of food is outstanding. Cooks' put on a good menu every day- taking advantage of locally available produce where they can. Can expect a grand selection at lunch and a full 3-course meal in the evenings. WiFi system is okay, but nothing special. Capable of messages and the occasional video call. Vessels kept in good clean condition, well looked after and maintained.
