2010 build vessel with very outdated features or lack thereof. All cabins, with the exception of X2 4-man cabins and the Master/Chief Engineer are all fitter with bunk beds to accommodate doubling-up. All officers cabins and the x2 4-man cabins are served by their own ensuite. The others are shared WC with opposite cabin (Bosun & Cook in one arrangement, AB1 & AB2 in the other). No cabins are served with their own temperature control, nor are any protected by their own smoke detector. So if you're cold, better wrap up because either the whole ship is warm or it's cold- the bridge suffers from being the coldest place on that ship being the furthest away from the AC/Heating Room. Toilets operate on a vacuum system (if it works), drains on a common line. It is not uncommon for there to be a fowl stench emitting from the drains in the galley or cabins. A strong stomach and nose is advised. Recreation and leisure facilities leaves much to be desired. No on board gym, no welfare fund or active welfare engagement scheme from Owners/Managers/Charterers. Reluctant to get a dart board installed. Mess/Lounge is one shared space- ships office converted to a small recreation room with small TV and games console which has seen better days. More used for storage. Frequent requests for weight training/weights have been denied owing to unjust dispositions from upper management. On the topic of storage, this is at a premium, so every space is utilised. So much so the old hospital is an officers cabin, the Third Officers cabin doubles up as a PPE store and the bosun's day bed doubles as a deck stores locker. Food and Drink on board is only as good as the ships cook- a very backwards and overcomplicated provision ordering system whereby a order is made with a European firm, then sent to a UK provisioner for fulfillment. No shortage of Italian ham, cheese or pasta... Not so much for UK tastes/preferences. On board WiFi is hardly reliable. Same system is used for ships computers and communication, isn't fit for supporting anything other than Facebook Messenger or WhatsApp. The benefit of being near coastal all the time means over reliance on the WiFi isn't heavy. Internally, depending on the crew, is kept well maintained and tidied with regular housekeeping rounds made. Externally, expect a wash down every couple of days due to both funnels pumping out an ungodly amount of Soot, covering everything in black soot and particulate matter. Overall, the vessel is okay, if you can survive and make do with sub par upper management and dated facilities. Can be cited as an embarrassment to the UK Government/MCA charterers regarding how it passed a flag change from IT to UK and the staggeringly eye watering turnaround of crew in one year. Caution advised.
